New studies show that orange juice in particular can make an important contribution to a balanced diet. Because many people eat far too little fruit and vegetables. Oranges have a high content of vitamin C. Oranges also contain flavonoids and carotenoids. Another plus of orange juice: the human body can absorb the healthy nutrients of oranges from the fruit juice better than when eating the pure fruit.

Where does the orange get its name from? The orange was initially called orange. It probably owes its name to its Chinese origin. "Sina" is the late Latin word for China. So the orange is the "apple from China". The name "Orange" became established in 1753. The inspiration for the naming was the Spanish word "naranja" or the Arabic word "narang" for "bitter orange". The Arabs, in turn, adopted the Persian word "nareng" and the Sanskrit word "naranga". Incidentally, the name orange is not derived from the color of the fruit - it was the other way around: the fruit was there first and the color was named after her.
